A local woman is satisfying her need for speed on her birthday. She's turning 110 years old! Friends at River Landing in Colfax threw Gladys Horneys a birthday party Friday.

Your donations can help feed the hungry in the Piedmont this holiday season. Workers spent Friday putting up the 12-foot 'Giving Tree' at Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem. The tree, made entirely of canned food, is part of the Friends Feeding Friends food drive.
